To our West Virginia HillFest community,
It is with deep disappointment and a heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of West Virginia HillFest.
This decision was not made lightly. Over the past couple of months, we became aware that a former colleague engaged in behind-the-scenes negotiations with Snowshoe Mountain Resort to produce a similarly named event—without our knowledge, involvement, or any communication with us. Unfortunately, this was done while we were actively planning HillFest in good faith and under the assumption of transparency and mutual respect.
Learning of these negotiations after the fact left us blindsided and placed us in an untenable position. The resulting confusion created by a similarly branded event made it impossible for us to move forward responsibly with the West Virginia HillFest we had envisioned and promised to our participants, sponsors, and partners.
We are truly devastated by this outcome. HillFest was built on our experience creating and operating events while bringing others along to learn and grow with us. A genuine passion for the racing community was a foundation to grow on. We know how much excitement surrounded this event. We share in your frustration and disappointment.
To everyone who supported HillFest—our event team, competitors, vendors, sponsors, and fans—please know that this decision was made to protect the integrity of our brand, our partners, and the community we’ve worked so hard to build. Z Performance / 4Fest Events who have operated West Virginia HillFest previously will have no involvement in any event at Snowshoe Mountain Resort or West Virginia SpeedFest.
Thank you for your understanding, loyalty, and continued support. This is not the end of our events in West Virginia, and we remain committed to delivering authentic, well-run experiences rooted in transparency and respect.
Sincerely,
The West Virginia HillFest Team
